Memorial Day - May 30, 2016

Our Post and Auxiliary members conducted the annual Memorial Day service at the Veterans' section of Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Although the forecast was rain, the weather held off and the sun was shineing for the program.

On Saturday, Post members decorated all of the graves in the Veterans Section with flags. Then on Monday, the day begins with the reading of General Logan's "General Order No. 11" written in 1868 directing all Posts and comrades to "in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit" to honor the comrades who died in defense of their country.
