Men's Auxiliary to the VFW
|
At the 2015 National Convention, the Ladies Auxiliary was renamed to the Auxiliary, and eligibility to the Auxiliary was changed to include both male and female members who are related to veterans. Since this will include all of the exiting Men's Auxiliary members, the Men's Auxiliary is in efect no longer needed.
As of March 2016, the State closed the charter of the Men's Auxiliary in Garner. Nearly all of the former members of the Men's Auxiliary 10225 have already completed applications to the new Auxiliary, making them eligible for all benefits that exist today.
The Men's Auxiliary was established at the 2001 VFW National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. However, the organization only existed at the local Post level. There was no provision for them at the District, State or National levels. |
The Men's Auxiliary to Post 10225 was instituted and the first officers were installed on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Post. Since that time, our Men's Auxiliary has been an active arm of our VFW family, helping out at Post functions, and holding some of their own. It is expected that the new Auxiliary including both men and women, will continue to be an asset to the Post.
